SCHOOLTURE FOR CLIMATE CHANGE

What is Schoolture for Climate Change?

This is an innovative project applying the participatory design method to education. The main aim of the project was to develop a methodology and a toolkit that can be applied in all schools, regardless of subject.

The project activities were implemented in two schools:

– at Zografou Primary School, Greece
– at the Primary School in Dąbie, Poland

In each school, projects related to climate education (with a focus on climate change) were implemented using the participatory design method.

The projects were tailored to the needs of each school and involved different groups of stakeholders around the school – students, teachers, parents, local activists and policy makers.

See how we acted in schools in Greece and Poland

Project results:

  • 2 pilot educational programmes created on the basis of pro-climate projects implemented in 2023 and 2024 in two schools – in Greece and Poland.
  • Guide with methodologies, tools and good practices for participatory design in educational activities related to the climate crisis and cultural heritage .

Project leader: Commonspace Co-op – an organisation with many years of experience in participatory design.

Project partner: SPATIA Foundation for the Development of Education – an organisation that creates and implements modern educational programmes in cooperation with partners from Poland and Europe.
